Overview
This is a project that lies very close to my heart. Me and my friend Alice Isakson are both skate boarders. Whenever we went skateboarding in a park in either Stockholm or Amsterdam there were about 90% guys and 10% girls there. When I was younger I was too scared to start boarding because I was scared of all these cocky, loud guys, I felt like I didn't belong there. Now I regret that I didn't start when I was younger, because it is the most amazing sport. Its playful, fast and its like a crash course in learning that mistakes and failures eventually leads to success and happiness.
Skateboarding is, to a lot of peoples surprise, a very warm and welcoming sport. The encouragement Ive received from other skaters when I've done something or dared to try something is a thing I've never experienced before. Especially from women, they have each others backs in the park. These four dutch women are part of a female skateboard collective called 'Foefzine' that we wanted to promote and show the world.
